I feel your pain when it comes to trying to start a new shiny plan to be more consistent in the gym, eat cleaner, stop slacking…..all the things. I’ve tried them. I tend to have the shiny object syndrome. I need something new and exciting to chase after and push towards. I think it will change the way I behave and act. I feel motivated at the start and ready to kick some ass! Butttt….then the shine wears off and I had no system or accountability to keep it going. Then it slowly fades off as I rationalize that it isn’t worth it, and I’m ok were I’m at.
It’s the constant cycle of every couple weeks, have a wake up call and thinking I need a change…..So I start something new and exciting and then fall off after a few days. The key I was, and still am missing is discipline and accountability to reach those goals that seem so hard in the moment. The saying “Discipline=Freedom” is so true . Being trapped in decisions that you will later regret do not get you the freedom you are chasing. True freedom will come when you are in control of your thoughts and emotions and can truly be who you were created to be. The best version of yourself.
If this sounds like you, you’re not alone. I’m right there in the same boat with you. Ready to pursue a better version of myself.
